The Northern California Cherry Blossom Festival regularly draws over 200,000 to San Francisco?s Japantown, the largest Japantown in the U.S. and one of San Francisco?s most visited tourist destinations. The festival is produced by Sakura Matsuri, Inc., a 501 (c) 3 non-profit dedicated to promoting an understanding and an appreciation of the cultural traditions of Japan and Japanese-Americans and is one of the largest and most prominent celebrations of Asian culture in the state. The event includes a street fair, grand parade and various other cultural performances.

About the Festival:
In Northern California we have taken up the popular love of the cherry blossom to stage a massive binational, bicultural celebration.

Each year, over 200,000 people attend this dazzling display showcasing the color and grace of the Japanese culture and the diversity of the Japanese American Community. Please join us and become a sponsor of this popular Japanese American community event.

What’s in the Festival: The Street Fair will include a food bazaar, featuring traditional Japanese cuisine and cooking demonstrations, a Japanese traditional arts and crafts fair, and a children’s village. Entertainment stages will feature performances by Japanese classical and folk dancers, martial artists, taiko drummers and others. Companies sponsor a high profile street fair area, a street fair booth, one of two entertainment stages or a combination of these.

The 9th Annual Forecastle Festival 2010 is where the Midwest connects. Founded in Louisville, KY, the annual gathering is equal parts Music, Art, and Activism. A symposium for musicians, artists, and environmentalists, Forecastle connects the progressive Midwest. The 2009 fest is expected to draw 10,000 patrons to the Louisville Waterfront part of a scenic, $60 million dollar riverfront investment which draws 1.5 million visitors a year.

Allentown Art Festival 2010

The Allentown Art Festival takes place in the Allentown Historic Preservation District of Buffalo, New York. Tens of Thousands art patrons visit the Festival to enjoy the beauty of Buffalo’s weather in June, the charm and uniqueness of the Allentown area and the quality of the art and crafts presented by the over 400 juried exhibitors.

For the 2006 Festival, $21,275 in cash awards was presented to Artists, Best of Show, Mentholatum Purchase Award and Poster Winners. $20,000 was also awarded for eight Art Scholarships and support for Erie County High School students to attend New York State Summer School for the Arts. In addition 10% of the gross profit from the festival goes to the Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo, to be used for future Art Scholarships
