A Show of Support at the PGA Fall Expo
PGA Professionals and golf retailers from all 50 U.S. states and 16 countries converged in Las Vegas on Tuesday for the first day of the 2009 PGA Fall Expo at Mandalay Bay Convention Center. Busy booths, standing-room only education seminars, capacity networking events, and an active inaugural career fair made for a tremendous show of support for the golf industry on Day 1.
“The show has exceeded our expectations and the traffic flow is as good as any I can remember the past few years,” said Mark Maley, vice president of sales for Carnoustie. “During these rough economic times, it is great to see the buyers supporting the show in such a positive way. PGA Government Legislation Seminar is Standing Room Only
Capacity crowds heard PGA Professionals, AGM members, and industry experts on a variety of timely topics Tuesday during the opening day of exhibitions and education seminars at the 2009 PGA Fall Expo at Mandalay Bay Convention Center.
Christine Garrity, managing director and general counsel for The PGA of America, joined PGA Government Affairs Consultant Eric Winborn to discuss “Government Legislation Impacting Golf” in another well-attended seminar Tuesday. Garrity and Winborn reviewed a litany of government issues, proposed legislation and the critical role of government relations at the local, state and federal level during the one-hour presentation.
