Renewing the Energy in Science Education

The focus is on energy at our Cincinnati area conference. The conference headquarters hotel is the Millennium Hotel. Conference registration and some sessions and events will be at the Duke Energy Center, as will the exhibits and the NSTA Science Store. Additional events will be held at the Millennium Hotel and Hilton Cincinnati Netherland Plaza.

The conference will begin with concurrent sessions on Thursday, December 4, at 8:00 AM. The conference will end on Saturday, December 6, at 12 Noon with the closing of the exhibits.

Oktoberfest-Zinzinnati began in 1976 near Fountain Square to attract visitors Downtown and to celebrate Cincinnati’s deep German heritage. Since then, the event has grown to be North America’s largest Oktoberfest. Over 500,000 people attend each year.

Oktoberfest-Zinzinnati showcases the rich German heritage of Southwestern Ohio, as well as tasty samples of German-style music, food and beer. Nearly 600 volunteers contribute their time and energy to stage the event.

Are you ready or a weekend of Salsa, Salsa, Salsa? That’s right, Media Latina, LLC will be hosting Cincinnati’s VERY FIRST Salsa Festival that will take place at the beautiful riverfront Sawyer Point Park cresting the Ohio River on Saturday, September 6, 2008 from 12:00 noon till 11:00 PM. This weekend has worked out to be a great Chicago/Cincinnati celebration with the Cincinnati Reds playing the Chicago Cubs. The weekend will be starting off with a Pre-Party on Friday (9/5/08) at Step’n Out Studio in Covington, KY featuring Angel Ortiz from New York, and DJ Lexus from Chicago, then Saturday (9/6/08) the Cincinnati Salsa Festival is bringing Chicago’s talented dancers from “The Dance Academy of Salsa” and musicians like “The Chicago Mambo All Stars”. Then the Cincinnati Reds playing the Chicago Cubs from 7:00 PM – 10:00 PM, and closing the festival will be legendary salsa headliner “Lalo Rodriguez”, a three time Grammy Winner. That’s not all, following the festival will be an After-Party featuring “The Chicago Mambo All Stars”, and “Son Del Caribe”. This year the festival runs for two days and there are three stages of the best in Blues, the main stage has National blues headliners, the Arches Stage featrures Boogie Woogie Piano on Friday and best in accoustic blues on saturday, and Gospel stage features roots music!
