			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The Northern California Cherry Blossom Festival regularly draws over 200,000 to San Francisco?s Japantown, the largest Japantown in the U.S. and one of San Francisco?s most visited tourist destinations. The festival is produced by Sakura Matsuri, Inc., a 501 (c) 3 non-profit dedicated to promoting an understanding and an appreciation of the cultural traditions of Japan and Japanese-Americans and is one of the largest and most prominent celebrations of Asian culture in the state. The event includes a street fair, grand parade and various other cultural performances.</p>

<p><strong>About the Festival:</strong><br />
In Northern California we have taken up the popular love of the cherry blossom to stage a massive binational, bicultural celebration.</p>
<p>Each year, over 200,000 people attend this dazzling display showcasing the color and grace of the Japanese culture and the diversity of the Japanese American Community. Please join us and become a sponsor of this popular Japanese American community event.</p>
<p><strong>What&#8217;s in the Festival:</strong> The Street Fair will include a food bazaar, featuring traditional Japanese cuisine and cooking demonstrations, a Japanese traditional arts and crafts fair, and a children&#8217;s village. Entertainment stages will feature performances by Japanese classical and folk dancers, martial artists, taiko drummers and others. Companies sponsor a high profile street fair area, a street fair booth, one of two entertainment stages or a combination of these.</p>

<p>We would like to say “THANK YOU” to everyone for their continued support to make the Glass Craft &#038; Bead Expo the premiere event in the art glass industry. Everyone in attendance as well as the instructors and exhibitors expressed positive feedback and are gearing up for 2010! </p>
<p>The 2010 Gallery of Excellence will be co-sponsored by GlassCraftsman Magazine and will be sure to bring out the “best of the best.” The “demo” area for the 2010 show will again be co-sponsored by Glass Patterns Quarterly / Profitable Glass and Flow Magazine. They have compiled a fabulous line up of experts to bring you the new techniques and tools with live torch work demonstrated each day on the show floor.<br />
For 2010, Slumpy’s has graciously supplied all students with lanyards for their class badges which are being sponsored by D &#038; L Art Glass Supply’s.<br />
Please remember to pick your lanyard up at the registration desk. </p>
<p>Yes, bowling has returned and we hope that all of you will join us for a night of fun, Friday, April 9th at 9pm for bowling. Great prizes and a lot of fun!</p>
