The Sunset Junction Street Fair is an event held annually in the Sunset Junction neighborhood of the Silver Lake community in Los Angeles, California. Occurring annually in late August, the two-day neighborhood festival was first held in 1980 as a way to quell tensions between the neighborhood’s long-time Latino residents and the newer gay residents, who some felt were causing the neighborhood to become gentrified. The festival, put on by the Sunset Junction Neighborhood Alliance, closes off a large portion of Sunset Boulevard and features live music, rides, food and merchandise vendors. Over the years many noted musicians and musical acts have performed, including Beck, Elliott Smith, Sleater-Kinney, X, Camper Van Beethoven, Chaka Khan and the Ladies of The Supremes among others.

From Long Beach and South Los Angeles Take the Harbor Fwy (110) North to the Hollywood (101) North . Exit at Vermont Avenue, turn right onto Vermont and drive North to Santa Monica Boulevard, Turn right onto Santa Monica Blvd. and drive East to the junction of Santa Monica and Sunset Blvds. From Pasadena and North East Los Angeles Take the Foothill Fwy (210) West to the Pasadena Fwy (110) South to the Hollywood Fwy (101) North. Exit at Vermont Avenue, turn right onto Vermont and drive North to Santa Monica Boulevard, Turn right onto Santa Monica Blvd. and drive East to the junction of Santa Monica and Sunset Blvds. From Orange and San Diego Counties Take the Interstate 5 North to the Hollywood Fwy (101) North. Exit at Vermont Avenue, turn right onto Vermont and drive North to Santa Monica Boulevard, Turn right onto Santa Monica Blvd. and drive East to the junction of Santa Monica and Sunset Blvds. From East LA, San Gabriel Valley & San Bernardino County.
